  • cool in depth lore

humans--- humans. There are a ton of mages, those make up the majority, but other than that they’re humans. Also there are less humans than any of the other races. Nomadic.

monsters--- creatures made entirely out of magic. They’re known for being incredibly kind and loving to people. Peaceful. Turn to dust when they die, unlike everyone else, since they’re entirely magic. The monsters that live in the water have turned more cruel and heartless though (cough underfell cough) in order to survive the harsh environment. A majority of monsters are also claustrophobic, thanks to a time years (and years and years…) ago when there was a war that ended in them being trapped underneath a specific mountain. Monsters’ cities are all around the bases of mountains and climbing up said mountains. i probably will remove them, or change them a lot more, because theyre kinda just ripped from undertale at the moment and i dont wanna steal stuff.

hybrids--- usually between monsters and humans, though there have been a few cases of ents and humans or monsters. Mermaid and monster hybrids also exist. Nobody likes the mermaid hybrids since they’re jerks, but other than that hybrids are pretty accepted. They’re about 50/50 on whether they’re nomadic like humans or live in cities with the monsters.

androids--- created by monsters. They’re a genuine artificial intelligence aka real people. They are not ghost monsters possessing robot bodies. They live in a bunch of underground cities left behind after the monsters abandoned the underground. BTW, i am very anti-ai irl (tho i will admit, im not good at spotting it... very gullible :[), i just think the idea of a genuine artificial intelligence is cool, like in person of interest or the show androids.

ents--- tree people. They are trees that have become sentient and humanoid. A lot like the ents in lord of the rings, except that they’re all nonbinary.

mermaids--- evil. They and all of the super dangerous water creatures and monsters are all super mean and will eat anything. Anything. Super sharp teeth and claws. They are not sirens, they cannot sing to save their lives and they do not give a shit who you are, just that you have a body that wont turn to dust that they can eat. Nothing can fulfill their hunger. kinda like if underfell and horrortale had a baby.

    general info

Humans generally have a good relationship with everyone, though there is a group that hates monsters for whatever reason. Monsters are friends with everyone. Nobody knows what's going on with the ents and they’re kinda scared of them. Everyone hates mermaids. The Androids keep to themselves underground so people see them as being pretty chill.

Okokok so hear me out— all the natural water is toxic and filled to the brim with extremely dangerous fish and eels and stuff. Soooooo what do people drink? They rely on an amber liquid known as brosh. Brosh is a lot like super watery honey, but not as sweet and a little tangy. There are also a lot of alien-like foliage (which also extends to being in the water) and the grasses are more vibrantly colored, like a greenish-blue or orange. (think of slime rancher)

ALSO when I said that all the monster cities are at the bases of mountains that also means that when there’s a chain the cities kind of clump up and from a distance look like one continuous city. It would be denser in the middle, thin out as you reach the edge, and then get denser as you get closer to the center of the next city. They also have small little communities up on the mountains, though there aren’t really that many that live up there. ALSOALSO their cities make circles around mountains and chains lol

There are a few human settlements spread out. They’re all pretty far from each other. They also don’t really have a lot of space in them— there are shops, an inn or two, a bar, and a few homes for the permanent residents. Or the permanent residents live in the shops. The settlements also have large areas used to produce food and raise animals.

When it rains, the rain itself isn’t toxic since the chemicals in the water that make it toxic don’t go with it when it evaporates, so people collect barrels of rainwater and sell it as a special drink. After it rains, all the water sinking into the soil causes poisonous chemicals to come up and out of the ground, so people have to wear masks when they go outside. There are monsters that are immune to the toxins in the water or that come up after the rain, but they’re a minority.
