alphys will be referred to as august in this au. character info is bound to change, so you may wanna check back every once in a while. there are more characters listed than are involved with the actual story (iirc). asgore and toriel are still married, but asgore doesnt live with them anymore due to a lot of fighting. its really just legal. toriel doesnt really wanna divorce him yet tho...

Frisk- 10 y/o, perseverance trait, extroverted but mute (has to use sign language)

Chara- 12 y/o, justice trait, introvert, translates for frisk if needed, adopted older sibling to frisk

Kris- 16 y/o, silly little prankster, introvert, nerrrrddddddd, therian (dog theriotype), gets bullied a lot but doesn't mind, the oldest, has bitten people before, maybe has rabies

Papyrus - 11 y/o (it fits him but also he’s right in between frisk and chara lol), literally just papyrus, climbed the mountain

Sans- 15 y/o, struggling with the loss of paps, can shapeshift and can’t tp (shortcut), has bones and blasters but also can bring drawings to life, THEY/THEM, a lot like uzi doorman from murder drones, but more subdued and chill, and instead of nightcore it’s crane wives, nerrrdddd, smells bad bc they dont know what soap is and don’t wash their clothes, obsessed with humans and mt ebbot and the barrier bc of paps, chronically online— they’re online friends with noelle and kinda just don’t interact with her or anyone else at school if possible, so they don’t really have friends they hang out with irl except for the vessel, heard about dark fountains once and thinks that may be something to look into, mcyt fan (how they got into the crane wives lol), got possessed by a demon once and kinda… are a bit odd now and then

Gaster- middleaged loser scientist (lovingly), older brother and caretaker of sans and paps, tends to obsess over current projects until he hits something that stops any momentum, tends to have a lot of ongoing projects but only works on one and usually never finishes anything, pyromaniac <3, he/it, magic consists of gaster blasters, bones, flashing lights, and bombs, traaaaannnsss, dated this au’s gaster, knows a lot of random facts, really big into horror movies and got August into them, good at basketball, has told many children that stars are just dino farts that escaped the atmosphere when the meteor hit and that rain is bird pee, there was a lab accident when he was younger that led to his scars and scarred soul (he nearly died but it ok now), would genuinely die without coffee, bibliophile, left handed, only has a hole in one of his hands

Undyne - she really likes pirates, huge shark fan, into greek mythology but not bc of percy jackson, tried to climb mt ebbot as a kid but got caught, ace lesbian, tridents instead of spears, lost her eye when she was six but has only ever told Gerson what happened

Asgore - police chief but he’s bad at his job (he’s way to nice to everybody)

Toriel - schoolteacher, hasnt had a reason to divorce asgore (yet) so they’re married

Asriel- also in college, historyyyyyy bufffff, is actually a G I R L (transssssss)

December (dess)- at college with asriel, the two are datingggg, started a band with asriel and alphys (august), is the lead singer

Noelle- crushing on susie as usual, spends time with sans researching mt ebbot and stuff, but not irl she hangs out with them on discord, she has tried to chat with them at school but berdly and some of her other friends are always wanted her attention so she doesn't lol, and that’s why sans has never really tried either, still convinced ice-e will come and kill her lmao

Berdly - untouched he’s perfect

Susie- homeless but nobody knows, she’s convinced them that she lives somewhere close by with her grandma (who doesn’t exist >: ), somewhat knows noelle but the two dont talk much, has thought about climbing the mountain herself and even climbed it some but ultimately always chickens out, likes to bully sans (easy target), other than noelle the only fan of dess’s band

Gerson - alive and welllllll, never had a kid and is susie, noelle, sans, berdly, and the other teens teacher

Napstablook - they also make music, live with mad mew mew and mettaton, and has a somewhat successful youtube channel for gaming, wears sweaters and cat ear headphones

Mettaton- doesnt have his robo body but has been trying to get gaster to make it for him for ages, likes to make videos with napstablook, emo

Mad mew mew- she’s the baby of the ghost family. Otherwise untouched.

Brooke- 15 y/o, not a great relationship with her dad, biiiii, super cool, kindness soul trait, lives in a cabin in snowdin, mage but doesn’t really know a lot of magic stuff, extroverted, loud, brave, a bit of a dumbass, doesn’t know how to swim, thoughtful, gets defensive really easily, stubborn, actually usually is the smartest one in the group somehow, lies a lot to strangers and her dad, has issues trusting the people around her

Ashley- climbed the mountain not long before paps did, also 15, cis but uses she/they, extremely sensitive and a huge crybaby, qpr with brooke (ace/demiromantic), hasn’t really developed a lot of her own opinions on things

Vessel- a corrupted version of the player character, they’re neither monster nor human, and gaster is currently caring for them in secret bc he’s cool like that (the one project he’s not lost interest in/motivation for lol) they spend a lot of time with sans when they can, hate being kept a secret, listen to wayyyyy too much nightcore, would genuinely kill someone if they have a reason too (kinda have a more video game esque approach to stuff) ((like their world is a game, like jevil ig)), they/it, the #1 starbucks hater, cannot drink coffee (they throw up for some reason), communicate by throwing stuff at people and generally messing with them instead of using words, makes a lot of kandi and gives it to sans to give to people, has a shadow crystal, can glow sometimes, quiet extrovert, batman fan, thought they could fly and it broke a leg
